Corks - We Love Them

This article of the week is short and sweet! I think we all inherently know this, but survey data shows that consumers in the US prefer corks as the best enclosures for wine (as oppossed to screw top, synthetic cork, etc.).

As retailers, we all understand the importance of packaging. The article speaks specifcally about wine but when thinking about your retail concept, are you putting enough thought into product placement? Are you experimenting with different product types and placement to generate the most sales?

We won't dare talk about how to sell wine because we know you are the experts. But when it comes to wine accessories, we at True Fabrications have done a lot of a lot of research on retail packaging and placement. It is safe to say our product line is considered an impulse purchase. Most corkscrews, wine bags, and other tools generate additional sales as consumers walk around the store when looking for other products. They don't come in thinking too much about them.

This is the primary reason why specific placement of the wine accessories as well as eye-catching packaging are so important. If you put some wine bags and corkscrews by the register or down specific aisles as a reminder, sales will increase by three fold. If you create a small and enticing "gift center" that is visible throughout the store, you'll be impressed by the results. And if you bundle items together (wine with a gift bag for istance), you'll increase sales as well especially during the holidays.

The best part is with little space and investment, you can do very well since all wine accessories generate great margins!

We realize the importance of these additional sales and with your help, have developed our packaging to be the best - modern, eye-catching, artisitc, efficient, and most importantly, something consumers like to grab! Thanks for all the help!
